About Me
My name is Miranda Clayton.
I’m an RVA-based portrait photographer creating dreamy, natural, artistic images with a focus on connection, comfort, and storytelling that feels genuine.
I’m a former high school art teacher turned full-time portrait photographer, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in Painting and Digital Photography, and a Master’s in Art Education. I fell in love with photography back in 2008 during my first film photography class and launched my photography business in 2024. That background shapes everything I do — from how I see light and composition to how I guide people through sessions in a way that feels relaxed, encouraging, and fun.
When I’m not behind the camera (or a computer screen), I’m a mother of two, a wife, and a pet parent to a small zoo. I grew up in Orlando, spent a few years living in Vail, and have called the RVA area home since 2017. I love concerts, karaoke nights, hiking in the mountains, and enjoying a favorite local brewery.
